Lands Secretary reinstated

As per the Courts decision, Secretary Sipison has been formally reinstated to his role at the Department.
In accordance with the Court Order, we have ensured that all process and procedure was followed to allow Secretary Sipison to settle back into his role. While we welcome Secretary back into the organisation, I thank Tiri Wanga and Oswald Tolopa for their professionalism and efforts while acting in the role..

Prime Minister launches the Scanning & Archive Unit

Today was a historic occasion for the Department of Lands and Physical Planning, with the Opening of the New Scanning and Archiving Centre. I thank Prime Minister Peter O'Neill for accepting the invitation to officially open this new centre. Thanks must also be extended to National Planning and Monitoring Minister Richard Maru and Department Secretary for their presence to witness the occasion.

Launching of the Settlement to Suburb program
Launching the Settlement to Suburb Program at Kabua Crescent Konedobu with Governor Powes Parkop. Kabua Crescent will be the pilot project under the program. It will be the model suburb and pave the way for the rest of the program in the city.Additionally, a new Elementary and Primary school is part of development plans for state land located in the area, in partnership with Governor Parkop and NCDC.

Minister presents ILG Certificate to Kahanamona Idaro Land Group
Presenting the Kahanamona Idaro Group of Pari Village with their Certificate of Recognition of Incorporated Land Group.This is the second group from Pari Village to have gone through the proper process for recognition as an ILG by law, and I commend it's leaders for taking this step.

The new Lands Information Centre opens
The Lands Information Centre is long overdue, and will ease the huge problems faced previously, especially in client service at the department.  This is a result of collective effort by management to ensure that the public get the information that they require, all in one designated area.

Tubumaga Laurina ILG receives ILG Certificate
Official Presentation of Certificate of Title as formal recognition of the Tubumaga Laurina Incorporated Land Group, and its ownership of its land portion around the Pari Village area. There is no outright purchase of customary land, and all land sold previously outside of this ILG must be recalled.
